There are a few scratches there but they're pretty small. I think these were some of the highest res textures that Spitfire had worked on for firearms and he tried to push the detail very hard and as this was 're-normal-maps' he didn't have a guide for how big I might've wanted the scratches to be. I think it works well especially on a high res display of the game.
It looks good used the AG3 during my army days in Norway aswell. Only thing that strikes me is that the pull back arm for pulling back the firing mechanism and the knob for selecting single shot, automatic or safety is on the wrong side.
Oh whoops! So fire shot selection and loading handle are on the left side of the rifle? The texture is mirrored so the labels are on both sides ... was a matter of texture effeciency although, I'd now consider that a mistake too!
lol I just checked ... I must've mirrored the model for this render because my files show the cocking handle and safety / selector on the left side. I'm usually really good with those kind of details for 'ingame' but when it comes to render I try to show off my details as best as possible. I think maybe thats why I was so cautious to accept your crit ... cos I usually get that right.
Ahh, the G3A3. there is only two countries in the world that still use this weapon, Norway and Israel. this rifle fires the powerful 7.62mm NATO round and its deadly at a range up to 4000 meters. I from Norway and I use this weapon under military training, In Norway the rifle is named AG3 (automatGevær3).
Cool I wasn't aware that Israel still used it. There are still a lot of them outside of military service around the world for example in the hands of mercernaries or in stockpiles in Germany. Then of course there is the excellent precision rifles that have come from this design such as the MSG-90 and PSG-1.
jupp, its one of the most precise AR in the world. the combination of a long barrel and a powerful round makes this rifle even more powerful than the AK47. but the the recoil is big compare to the M16 or the M4, and the mag only holds 20 rounds. you can get the G3A3 as belt-feed to.
Partly yes ... many people think wrongly though that the Stg44 was the first assault rifle. The Italians developed one in the 19th century and the Russians had one in WW1. Its just that the military brass didn't think they were very good weapons until they saw the performance of the Stg44 in combat.

yes, the AR that the Russians developed was to big and heavy to be seen on as a AR. the same is it for the American BAR, it was either a heavy assault weapon, or a light squad support weapon. I personally think that the SturmGewehr 44 was the first successful assault weapon in the world.
oh god dude its good to see you're teams focussing on specialists hey(dont all good teams???), im so sick of modelling, rigging and animating something well, then having no-one to turn to for its texture but myself, i suck at texture! lol top stuff man top stuff
